I am a Professor of Economics at Charles University, Prague, and a Research Affiliate at the Centre for Economic Policy Analysis, London, and the Meta-Research Innovation Center at Stanford. Previously I was Advisor to the Board at the Czech National Bank.

I specialize in macroeconomics, international economics, and meta-research, having published, e.g., in the Review of Economics and Statistics, Journal of the European Economic Association, and Journal of Labor Economics.

My work has garnered over 8,000 citations. According to Research Papers in Economics I am the most cited Czech economist and among the 200 most influential economists worldwide. In 2020 I became the first Czech economist to serve on a panel for ERC Advanced.
