I am a Professor of Economics at Charles University, Prague, and a Research Affiliate at the Centre for Economic Policy Research, London, and the Meta-Research Innovation Center at Stanford. Previously, I served as full-time Advisor to the Board of the Czech National Bank.

I specialize in meta-research and empirical methods for the social sciences, with applications in macro, labor, and international economics. My recent work appears in Nature Communications, Review of Economics and Statistics, Journal of the European Economic Association, and Journal of Labor Economics.

Our team's work has received over 9,000 citations, placing me among the most cited economists from Central Europe according to Research Papers in Economics. In 2020 I became the first Czech economist to serve on a panel for ERC Advanced.
